Special Election

Per Ohio Revised Code 3501.17(J)(2), the Board of Elections shall provide to a political subdivision seeking to submit a question or issue on the ballot at a Special Election with the estimated cost for preparing for and conducting that election, which shall be calculated either by multiplying the number of registered voters in the political subdivision with the cost calculated under division (J)(1) of O.R.C. 3501.16 or by multiplying the cost per precinct with the number or precincts in the political subdivision. The political subdivision submitting a question or issue for placement on the ballot at the Special Election shall pay to the county elections revenue fund 65% of the estimated cost of the election not less than 10 business days after the deadline for submitting a question or issue for placement on the ballot at that Special Election.

Board of Elections' Meetings

Regular meetings of the Board are held the last Friday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the offices of the Board of Elections at 470 Center St., Bldg. 6-A, Chardon, OH 44024.

Our regular monthly meeting for the last Friday of April is canceled. Our next Board meeting will be a Special Meeting on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. The regular monthly meeting of May is also canceled.
